Sales items (Viewer)

A person added as Viewer (no seat, free) sees one page: Sales items (/sales-items). Description on screen: Item name, SKU, description, sale unit, list price, and whether it is in stock. It is read-only and does not use a paid seat.

Role: Viewer without a seat. Admins create these people on Setup → Users by choosing Access → Viewer (no seat, free).

What a seat-free Viewer sees

The sidebar has a single item, Sales items.
There is no Search on-hand field in the header.
The theme button and the account menu are still at the top right. The account menu offers Profile and Logout; Change password is not offered to a seat-free Viewer.
Opening any other address shows Not available for Viewer / A Viewer can open the sales item list, or their profile to sign out. with a Sales items button.

Access is limited to the list

A seat-free Viewer’s account can read the sales item list, their own sign-in details, and the Terms, and can sign out. The server refuses everything else, even when an address is typed in directly. That includes saving profile changes such as a new photo or name.

Accept the Terms (first visit)

Sign in. Like everyone else, a seat-free Viewer first sees the full-page Terms screen (see Accept the Terms).
Choose Accept Terms. You land on Sales items.

If the list itself reports that the Terms still need accepting, a Terms box appears on this page instead of the table: Accept the Terms ([version]) to see the sales item list. Nothing else in the app is available until you do. Choose Accept Terms (it reads Saving…) and the list appears.

Read the list

Columns: Item name, SKU, Description, Sale unit, List price, and In stock (In stock or Out of stock). A dash means the value is not set. There are no edit or sell controls.

The list shows the company’s finished SKUs only, sorted by item name. Raw and sub-assembly SKUs are not listed.
List price is the stored price set on Prices. Promotional discounts are not applied here.
Sale unit is the unit that price is for, or the SKU’s base unit when no price is stored.
In stock means at least one unit is on hand. The list does not show how many.

Other states: Loading sales items…; No sales items / Nothing is on the sales list.; Sales list is not available yet / The server has not published the Viewer sales list.

Give a Viewer more access

An admin edits the person on Users, switches Access to Seated roles, ticks roles, and saves. That uses a seat. See Seats and payment card.
